The Woodlands senior portraits, as individual as the Highlander wearing them.
A fine art senior guide for The Woodlands Highlanders. What to wear in forest green and red, where to photograph across The Woodlands, and how two seniors will represent the Class of 2027 as this year's ambassadors.
Represent The Woodlands
Two Highlanders will represent the Class of 2027.
Each year, no more than two The Woodlands seniors are chosen to represent their school as Swartz Portraits ambassadors. An ambassador's favorite portraits are featured on this page, seen by every Highlander family who comes here to plan their own senior's session. If you are the senior your friends already ask to take their photos, this is your spot.

The flagship of the corridor, with the tradition to match.
The Woodlands High School opened in 1996 and quickly became the standard the rest of the corridor measures itself against: an A-rated campus and a former national Blue Ribbon School, drawing from Carlton Woods, Sterling Ridge, and Grogan's Mill.
Its Highlander band is one of only a handful of programs in the world to hold both the Sudler Flag of Honor and the Sudler Shield, and the kilted Highlander himself, sword and all, is one of the most recognizable mascots in Texas high school life.
A school with that much identity deserves portraits with the same intention. Editorial, unhurried, and unmistakably yours, made across up to five hours in the settings The Woodlands is known for.
What to wear, and where we photograph.
Wearing forest green and red
The Woodlands colors are rich, so we let green do the anchoring and keep red as the accent. A forest-green piece or a cream-and-camel neutral palette photographs beautifully, with red as a single detail rather than the whole look. Bring two or three outfits that feel like you, plus one that leans editorial. We plan the full set together at your consultation.
Cap and gown, done properly
Every Highlander senior gets a proper cap-and-gown set, photographed with intention rather than in a line. Bring the gown pressed and the cap flat, and we handle the rest, including the tassel and the small details that make it an heirloom rather than a snapshot.
Where a The Woodlands session happens
A The Woodlands session moves through the places that define the town: the Waterway and Hughes Landing, the fountains and brick of Market Street, the sculpted paths of Mercer Botanic Gardens, and the pines of George Mitchell Nature Preserve. Up to five hours, unlimited outfit changes, and two or three completely different looks.
Bring your bestie.
Senior year was not something you did alone, so your session does not have to be either. Bring your best friend along and we will make a few images of the two of you, the ones you will both still have framed long after graduation. Just mention it at the consultation so we can plan the time.
Swartz Portraits proudly supports The Woodlands High School and its seniors. We are an independent studio, and we are not sponsored by, endorsed by, or affiliated with The Woodlands High School or Conroe ISD. School names, colors, and mascots are referenced only to identify the seniors we serve.
Tell me your senior's story.
Begin with a complimentary in-home consultation, by appointment, 5 to 9pm. There is no pressure and no obligation, only a conversation about your The Woodlands senior and what their portraits could be.
